Nesconset Onyx-Look Shower
A shower wrapped in blue onyx-look porcelain, with body sprays, a pebble floor and floor-to-ceiling niches.
Project overview
The shower in this Nesconset bathroom is finished in large-format porcelain with the look of blue onyx: veined, translucent-looking and dramatic in natural light from the window.
Large panels leave little room for error. Every cut around the window, valve and niches is visible, and the veining has to line up where panels meet. Behind the tile, the shower was fully membraned before anything went on the walls, which is visible in the in-progress photos.
The fixtures include a rain head, multiple body sprays and a handheld shower, with a pebble mosaic floor underfoot. Two tall recessed niches with slim metal edges give storage without breaking up the stone pattern. Outside the shower, a dark wood vanity with a blue glass vessel sink picks up the color of the tile.
